About

Originally from the UK, Matthew has been living on the North Shore since late last century.

An actor, director and photographer, he was a founding member of the Acting Collective and currently part of Crossfade Productions. He has performed and directed at Howick Little Theatre as well as The PumpHouse. He has also worked on short films

As well as theatre performance Matthew was introduced to intimacy coordination and direction at a workshop by Jennifer  Te Atamira Ward-Lealand in 2019 and realized at that point how vital and effective this work is. Since then he has provided intimacy advice to short films and stage plays and introduced the practice to other theatre groups.

Matthew will talk about what intimacy coordination is and how it is used in the arts.

CREATIVE TALKS

Stories are at the heart of creativity. The PumpHouse Theatre’s series of Creative Talks is an informal early-evening event where local artists and creatives share their stories and ideas with our community whether they have a lifelong passion or are new to the arts.
This programme of free Creative Talks spotlights a wide range of the arts, giving audiences a behind the scenes insight into the world of the creative’s process.
From multicultural arts to theatrical performance, by way of actors, authors, poets and playwrights, there is something for everyone with an interest in the arts and what inspires and drives creativity.

This is a FREE event but seating is limited so please book your place in advance.
