About
Discover Pupukemoana is a free family event by Pupuke Birdsong Project and Takapuna North Community Trust to raise awareness of the ecology and threats to Lake Pupuke.
This event will give the community an opportunity to learn through experience; guided kayaking and snorkeling tours, Pumphouse Theatre tours, Killarney Park guided tours, workshops such as Raranga (weaving), and talks on relevant lake issues such as freshwater quality and pests.
Learn about freshwater pests and be in to win an amazing Kayak Package sponsored by the Environmental Services @ Auckland Council.

📌 Location: Killarney Park, 38b Killarney Street, Takapuna, Auckland
The free guided kayak & snorkel tours and Raranga (weaving) workshop will be run by Experience Marine Reserves (EMR). Please click here from 14th January 2025 to register.
Registrations for kayaking will open to locals first on the 14th January, then they will open to the general public on the 7th February. Please email sophie@mountainstosea.org.nz if you are a Takapuna/Devonport local to gain early access to the kayaking registration.
The Pumphouse Theatre guided tour is run by Mags Delaney-Moffatt from the PumpHouse.
There will be 15x spots available for each time slot. Participants MUST be reasonably fit (stair climbing involved).
Slot 1: 11:00 AM
Slot 2: 1:00 PM
The guided Killarney Park tour is run by Ranger, Anna Baine from Community Parks Programmes. This tour starts at 10:30 AM. There will be 30x spots available.
