Macbeth

Book for Macbeth

Directed by Steph Curtis

Ambition and desire. Destiny and prophecy. The gritty underworld of sectarian Scotland comes into sharp focus in this production of Macbeth. Set in a modern-day pub, this is the Bard’s classic tragedy, highlighting how his stories are always relevant.

The Winter’s Tale

Book for The Winter’s Tale

Directed by Max Easey

The Winter’s Tale tells the story of a young princess who is lost and then found over the course of 16 years. The play shifts from tragedy to comedy, from betrayal and plots of murder to farmland festivals and unexpected reunions. And famous for its iconic stage direction: “Exit, pursued by a bear”.

PLEASE NOTE: If the weather is bad, the show gets moved inside; it does not get cancelled.

School or Education Groups

Tickets are just $16.00 each for School or Education Groups of 10 or more people.

About The PumpHouse Outdoor Amphitheatre

Apart from the two indoor matinees, this show is being performed in our enchanting Outdoor Amphitheatre. The Amphitheatre is general admission, so you can’t pre-book a specific seat or area.

Be prepared for the ever-changing weather conditions in Aotearoa. We recommend bringing along sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, mozzie spray, and a warm jacket just in case.

We provide small, thin cushions for extra comfort; however, you are welcome to bring your own! You can also bring a flat-base/no leg ‘festival chair’ like the one pictured below. You can find these chairs at places like Kmart, Bunnings and Mitre10. These are extra handy to have if you come to other events in our Amphitheatre, like the annual Shakespeare in the Park!
