About

The improv show where three teams face off in a battle for glory, honour, and the audience’s favour. The winner returns in the headline spot next month, while the losers wail and gnash their teeth… We bring the knives. You bring the judgement.

For this very special Tāmaki Makaurau launch show, your headline act is the wonderful Real Housewives of Oneroa, coming straight from their sold-out season on Waiheke Island last month.

Your October MC is the delightful Rebecca Stubbing, a regular smiling face on the Tāmaki Makaurau improv scene. Teams will be announced closer to the show date.

Late Night Knife Fight is a beloved staple of the Pōneke (Wellington) theatre scene, running continuously since 2016! This Spring, the knives and the fights are coming to Tāmaki Makaurau for the first time!

Late Night Knife Fight was created in 2016 by Jennifer O’Sullivan and is produced by Locomotive in Pōneke.

The Knife Fight is a joyful proving ground for improvisers creating new work and ensembles, offering development, coaching, and collaboration across companies and styles. An opportunity to catch the next big thing in improv before it takes flight. Work presented at LNKF has gone on to full seasons and festivals, including RAW! ASMR (Auckland Fringe 2022), Two Dope Teens (winner: Best Improv Nelson Fringe 2018), The History Boy (nominated: Outstanding Solo Performer NZ Fringe 2021), and many more!
