MEET THE DIRECTOR
Nick Brown has directed in London, Rome, Bermuda, New Zealand, and twice off-Broadway in New York. His direction has garnered three dozen awards, including five Auckland Live Showdown Best Direction Awards, two Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand awards, and one NAPTA.

In New Zealand â The Laramie Project for AMT at Westpoint Performing Arts Centre; The Shakespeare Revue (2016) and Tomfoolery (2018/19) both for Brown & Maher, produced at The Albion, The Vic (Devonport), and Uxbridge Arts Centre; Proportional Misrepresentation (2020) at Westpoint Performing Arts Centre, also for Brown & Maher.
In London and regional UK â Next! a Sondheim Concert; Vision in Scarlett, both for the Bridewell Theatre; Assassins at the Landor Theatre; Whistle Down the Wind, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, both for the Churchill Theatre; Merrily We Roll Along at The Prince Theatre; The Tempest at Henry VIIIâs Eltham Palace.
In Rome and then London a new musical, MacGregor, orchestrations by Tony award-winner William D. Brohn. In Bermuda, with Mark W. Dorrell as musical director, Into the Woods (Bermuda Town Hall), Assassins, and A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum (both Daylesford Theatre). In New York, at the York Theatre, China Song by Simon Nicholson & Gary Carpenter, and Mind the Gap by Martin Seager, which was also filmed by the BBC.
MEET THE CAST
Stephen Butterworth has worked professionally in NZ within Live Theatre, Film and Television for over 30 years. His most challenging roles of his career both here and abroad were performed with Pop -Up Globe in roles such as Richard III, Maria in Twelfth Night, and Capulet in Romeo & Juliet. In 2022 he performed a principal role, Walter De Causey in Chess the Musical, produced by GnT Productions at the Auckland Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre.
Appearing in various Television and Film roles Stephenâs screen highlights include international productions including Spartacus (Starz), Evil Dead (Sony), Power Rangers, Cowboy Beebop (Netflix), and Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (Amazon). Local New Zealand productions include Insiderâs Guide to Happiness & Prosperity, Nothing Trivial, Fresh Eggs, The Dead Lands, and Shortland Street.
Amy Cotter graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London in 2020 and has worked extensively in the UK before moving to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2022.
Theatre work includes ‘Clybourne Park’ directed by Lindsay Posner, ‘The Wolves’ at the Embassy Theatre, London and ‘Old Love’ at Howick Little Theatre. As an accomplished spoken word poet, Amy has performed at the National Portrait Gallery, the Lion and Unicorn Theatre, and wrote and directed spoken word play ‘Tama, Ata or John’ for the Bread & Roses Theatre in London in 2022. Amyâs recent film âFish Out of Waterâ which she wrote and starred in, received multiple award nominations and official film festival selections across the UK.
