About
The PumpHouse Theatre and The Rose Centre present a free hands-on seminar about your Health and Safety obligations when working in a theatre.
Presented by experts in Health and Safety and technical theatre, you’ll come away with a greater level of understanding and confidence around Health and Safety and be able to use this knowledge at arts venues around Auckland.
Designed for theatre practitioners of all levels, this will especially suit those who have positions of responsibility such as stage managers, lighting team leaders and designers. Filled with practical exercises, real-work theatre examples and suggested documentation and templates this is a must-attend for anyone with Health and Safety responsibilities.

The Presenters
Rob Holland – Rob is a Chartered Professional Engineer with a keen interest in Health and Safety and his day to day work involves helping clients meet their obligations under the new Health and Safety at Work Act.
He has presented on Health and Safety for theatre previously, and has assisted local theatre groups during WorkSafe investigations.
With over 10 years involvement with amateur theater in Auckland, Rob also brings his understanding of how amateur groups operate and the risks involved with presenting a show.
Anton Reinauer – Tech Manager of ShoreSide Theatre and Peninsula Players, Anton has been doing tech in theatre for 12 years and has extensive lighting and sound design experience. He won an ACTT award for Best Sound Design in 2012 for `Closer’, and for Best Lighting Design in 2018 for ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
