About

Debbie Dorday shares stories from her dance-filled life.

At ten years old, having revealed a talent for dance, Debbie was sent from her home in Ngaruawahia to study at the Sadler’s Wells Ballet School in London. She was accepted into the Moulin Rouge company in Paris at the age of sixteen and spent a year touring with the troupe.

On her return to New Zealand in the 1970s, she performed at Auckland cabaret Annabelle’s before opening popular cabaret club, Burgundy’s of Parnell. Debbie will forever be remembered for her iconic television commercials … “See you at Burgundy’s!”

Speaker’s Forum events offer Friends of The PumpHouse Theatre the opportunity to engage with members of the Performing Arts sector in an informal setting.
